Scantru ("we", "us", "our") is a mobile application that analyses food labels to provide personalised safety scores. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Health Profile Data — Your health conditions, allergens, dietary preferences, and country selection. This data is primarily stored on your device. If you create an account, it is securely synced to our servers.
Scan Data — Photos of ingredient labels are processed to extract text. We do not permanently store your label images on our servers.
Account Data — If you create an account, we store your email address and a secure authentication token.
Device Information — A limited, anonymous device identifier used solely for rate limiting and abuse prevention. We do not track your location.
We use the following categories of third-party services to operate the App:
Your health profile and scan history are stored on your device. Server-side data (such as your account and submitted reports) is retained while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.
All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). We follow industry-standard security practices including encryption at rest. Your health profile is stored locally on your device and is only transmitted securely when you sign in to sync.
Scantru is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
